Uninstall the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software (Bluetooth®) before you install Windows 10. I have a Dual band version ready to replace it and will be testing the quality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both cards.ĭoes an Intel Bluetooth® adapter work on Windows ® 10? I just received my new Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 which came with a single band wireless adapter. Take a picture or verify the configuration of that card in case you might decide to replace it. Make sure and power down your system and remove the battery or external power. The other thing you might do is open up the panel for access to the Wireless card and reseat it and make sure the antenna leads are secure. You might enable the ability to view hidden devices I believe the system is loosing communications to the device which causes it to disappear.

If the Bluetooth icon disappears from the tray, the device is probably disappearing from the Device Manager. I have seen several versions of a single band Wireless-N device which have problems with Win 10, so possibly that is your I have a Dual Ban d Wireless-AC 7260 which works very well and never had any Windows 10 problems. Possibly that is just referring to the Processor used in the system. For instance, I see Intel has a Wireless-N 7260 but the Centrino description is not mentioned. The terminology used to describe Network Adapters can be very confusing to me. You never really told us anything about your system, such as is it a laptop? I deleted the drivers and downloaded them from the DELL website and installed. When I checked for updates, I got the message saying the drivers were up to date. Three drivers were present in DeviceManager and the services were running. Please see the pictures of Device Manager and TaskManager below.

This is a Windows 10 update bug that someone should check.īut at least I have a consistent solution: delete the drivers and reinstall them. The Bluetooth option disappears from the settings menu. The problem is more than just pairing the Bluetooth devices. Unfortunately, I have to repeat the steps below every time Microsoft updates itself. You will need to pair the Bluetooth device again to use it.

If you updated your PC to a newer version of Windows 10, the Bluetooth device might not work after the update. In order to assist you effectively, were there any recent change done to your PC prior to the issue?
